ISF U15 World School Sport Games: Technical Meetings conclude preparations

Sunday September 12 started with the Meeting of Heads of Delegations and Coaches in preparation for the upcoming days of competition of the ISF U15 World School Sport Games Belgrade 2021.

Following the arrival of all delegations in Belgrade all the heads of participating countries were then invited to take part in a general meeting to receive further information related to the event.

The attendees were welcomed by ISF Secretary General/CEO Hrvoje Custonja to address the meeting, highlighting the importance for all participants to follow the guidelines and instructions that have been provided, to ensure the smooth running of the event for everyone and all sports. He also thanked the Serbian School Sport Federation, local governmental and ministerial authorities for their hard work in hosting this inaugural event which will pave the way for a greater integration of the different categories of school sport practitioners, helping to convey the Olympic Values to the youngest and consolidate the ISF community.

It was then the turn of the President of The Serbian School Sport Federation Željko Tanasković who began by saying: “I am extremely honoured and happy that Belgrade is hosting the 1st ISF U15 World School Games. This competition will be special for Serbia because finally younger students will have the opportunity to compete internationally, as well as meet and socialise with their peers from around the world.”

Additionally, the general meeting also provided the opportunity for ISF Integrity Committee Chair Sophie Bordet to present the recent actions taken by ISF in regard to the topic of safeguarding children in sport.

Following the event meetings of the morning Mr Custonja had the pleasure of meeting United World Wrestling President Nenad Lalovic, to discuss the topic of youth sport and its development in the sport of Wrestling.
