In his welcome address to the delegates and participants, ISF President, Laurent Petrynka said:

“We are delighted to meet all these school sports athletes as they compete. This 19th ISF Gymnasiade is the first one of a new era, the largest ever for an international school sport event bringing together 3,500 school students from all over the world.”

Welcoming all the delegations to the region of Normandy, the Mayor of Deauville, Philippe Augier said:

“I would like to thank and congratulate ISF President Laurent Petrynka for the delivery of this fantastic event. To all those who have arrived here, Deauville opens its arms to you and hopes you all enjoy your time at the ISF Gymnasiade Normandy 2022.”

The parade of nations is concluded with the joint entrance to the CID venue by host country France and Ukraine.

Flag handover

The ISF flag has been officially passed to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

His Excellency Sheikh Sager Al Khalifa invited all the athletes to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the next edition of the ISF Gymnasiade taking place in the Kingdom of Bahrain two years in 2023.
